Introduction:

Our ultrasonic gun or pistol is an handheld device compact, light and flexible. Thanks to an easy sonotrode (also called horn) replacement, perform different operations with the same device. Indeed, depending on the tool used, you will perform safety ultrasonic weldings. We also propose other tools, to perform cutting operations. Thus, our range of various tools are mainly used for:

  • Ultrasonic shape cutting on different synthetic textiles* or plastic
  • Ultrasonic spot welding on plastics, ribbons, straps…
  • Continuous sealing on nonwovens, synthetic textiles…

Quick and easy, the ultrasonic technology used for our Pistol / Gun offers numerous advantages. On the one hand, ultrasonic cutting allows to realize in one single pass a clean cut (without fraying, burning, nor overthickness). As a result, the edges are closed and the product can be immediately used. On the other hand, ultrasonic spot welding allows to obtain a clean and strong welding (without glue or staple) to ease final make-up operations. Whatever is the use, be sure to obtain clean, resistant and consistent results!

Example of ultrasonic Pistol / ultrasonic Gun applications:

User friendly thanks to its ergonomic handle and its light weight, our P device is adapted to manual operations in applicatons such as : sun protection, bedding, industry, clothing, ribbons, home furnishing, etc.

Ultrasonic technology can be used only on synthetic textiles (with a minimum of synthetic fibers), thermoplastics or any thermo-fusible product. To be sure, don’t hesitate to contact us for ultrasonic cutting or welding trials

Cutting with ultrasound technology may be manual, semi or fully automated. They are usually tailored to meet each client’s needs and production standards. Ultrasonic sealing can be used on drapes made of just 25% synthetic fibers, such as polyester, viscose or rayon.Ultrasonic cutting edge sealing machine consists of the ultrasonic generator(drive power) and ultrasonic prober two parts.

Advantages:

  • No fraying and selvage
  • No burns on fabrics and emissions of toxic fumes
  • No warm up waiting time
  • Shorter production times
  • Less energy consumption
  • No need for thread in seams
  • Coupling together two fabrics or one with a film
  • Simultaneously punching and sealing
  • Cutting and sealing synthetic cloth at the same time.

Application:

There are several ways ultrasonic welding and cutting are used to replace traditional fabric assembly techniques in clothing production:

Seams—A common application is to make seams or hems in medical disposable products. These include medical garments, face masks, etc. Pattern wheels can simulate a single row, double row, or triple row of stitches.

Sleeves and Cuffs—Cylinder machines use a cylindrical arm with a rotary stitch wheel and an ultrasonic system above the wheel to effectively weld sleeves and cuffs.

Slitting/Sealing—Ultrasonic slitters cleanly cut and seal the edges of synthetic or blended fabrics. Fraying and unraveling are virtually eliminated.

Hand Cutting—A hand-held cutter is used for cutting straight lines or large radius curves by hand.

Plunge Cutting—A plunge cutter can be used to cut-to-length ribbons, strips, etc.

Plunge Sealing and Cutting—Ultrasonic plunge sealing and cutting are accomplished by single or multiple horns advancing onto the materials, which are placed on a fixed anvil.

Adhesive Bonding—Thermally activated materials are placed between two non-thermoplastic fabrics, such as cotton or wool or blends with little synthetic content. The ultrasonic vibrations cause the thermal activated adhesive to flow into the fibers of the fabric, joining them together.
